Drought affected areas of Central Queensland will find their issues
being brought to the forefront of Parliament by new local State MP, Lachlan
Millar.

Mr Millar says his focus will be on giving local farmers and
residents the support and attention that this serious issue deserves.

“For too long this drought has been really hurting the people of
Central Queensland and we need to call on all levels of parliament to work
together to provide the support needed to implement proper drought assistance.”

create more jobs in the area.

“Central Queensland is a beautiful place to live but unfortunately
due to the downturn in the mining industry, there are just not enough jobs
available in the communities. This is something that I am committed to
changing.”

Mr Millar is working closely with Emerald Mayor Kerrie Hayes to
ensure the needs of the community are being met.

Hi Emily - wow. Going really well here. The structure of this is great. Your job now is to do a 'Kate Stowell' on the news read of this. Mark up your words of emphasis, focus on your breathing and volume, and try not to run out of puff at the end of sentences. Lots of potential for this to be professional as the writing rhythm is very good - it 'reads well' for the ear. I hope this helps. :)
